1.a - Getting the files and making them work
1. Full Client (Recommended)
First thing to do is to download the full client which is recommended for this server.this could be found in the download section of are forum . Extract it with winzip or winrar (if you don't know what they are, google them). Now go to the folder and ONLY use the dagonrose.exe -- don't run any other program files. Now you can go ingame...
2. If you already have a client and don't want to downlaod a new one.
Client Versions Overview
- If you have version 139; you'll get TRosed and errored a bunch. Although you can upgrade most 7th grade and some 8th grade items with 6th grade bindrunes/talisman, you would error a lot and may eventually get stuck somewhere. You could use this client for upgrading, but actually playing with it may be near impossible.
- If you have version 155; then you're client should run perfectly fine -- more stable than any other client, although our server files are slowly being changed to fit into later client versions.
- If you have version 161; then that's our client's version.
- If you have 169; I have that and I don't think it's any different than 161. You just get a "hello" emot xP.
- Versions 170 have bad skills -- like clerics who can't buff others. Which is stupid. Anywyas, it's not recommended.
https://dagonrose.board-directory.net/downloads-f3/dagonrose-download-t2.htm -- has are patches and launcher.
1.b - Registering
Run the dagonrose.exe, get the client to load, type in the username and password that you desire and press login. It will say something like the account doesn't exist -- just type in the information as you had before, press login, and you're in. If you're not in, then pick another username and double login with that.
2.a - What are the available commands?
/go
/class
/allskill
/here
/reborn (have to be level 230)
/hair 0-??
/face 0-??
/transx female/male (You have to do /here straight after)
/shoptype 0-??
/noui (to disable this, just type it again)
/ani
2.b - The classes
Muse:
- Cleric: main stats are sen, con, int and a bit of str so you won't die too much. Clerics are a popular class here.
- Mage: Not recommended. You can't AoE on this server because it will lag.
Hawker:
- Raider: main stats are dex, con, sen (until you have 500 crit), and some str. This is the other popular class in the server.
- Scout: useless. A raider with a bow will own more than this guy ever will.
Soldier:
- Knight: Slow class. You'll hate becoming one.
- Champion: Ditto the above.
Dealer:
- Artisan: you can craft things -- that is, if you could find the materials. Disassemble doesn't work and the common drops become rare because of the x1000 drop rate.
- Bourgeios: No comment. They should own, but for some reason they don't. Maybe it's the fact that they have to buff themselves every 20 seconds. Or the fact that raiders' buffs pwn most of the bourg buffs.
2.c - Which stats to get/which stat does what.
Str - Gives defence, HP, a little bit of melee (like swords, axes, maces, dual weapons, knuckles) and cannon damage. Note: After 32k HP, your HP becomes bugged -- so don't add too much. (3k str is safe. Haven't tested farther than that)
Dex - Gives dodge, bow, dual weapon, and knuckle attack.
Int - Gives MP, makes CERTAIN skills better. Note: After 32k MP, your MP becomes bugged -- so don't add too much. (32k int happens between 7k-8k int?)
Con - Gives accuracy, cannon damage and gun damage.
Cha - No clue. Useless.
Sen - Gives criticals (once your CRIT stat reaches 500, you will crit 100% of the time), also gives ranged damage (e.i., cannon, gun, wand, and bow damage).
Suggestions for the popular/most useful classes/builds.
Clerics: Pump sen for more damage. Use wands. Buff yourself. Add a bit of int just so you have enough MP (V161 client cleric buffs do not get better when you add int).
Add con accordingly. If you're about 5 or so reborns, you should get about 1.3k con, and keep it there (Around there you stop missing monsters altogether).
Raiders: Pump dex for damage (and the avoidibility is good, too). Though dual weapons give more damage, I find that it's nearly impossible to get a dual weapon drop, so you're stuck with knuckles -- or you can try out a bow, although bow damage is bad.
Add sen until your crit is 500. 500 criit = 100% critical chance. It's worth getting this even on your first reborn.
Add con accordingly. If you're about 5 or so reborns, you should get about 1.3k con, and keep it there (Around there you stop missing monsters altogether).
High reborn raiders: Use cannons. You start pumping your con and adding a bit of sen here and there to even it out. Your int must be high to do this build, because the reason you are doing it is to kill things faster. The more int; the more aspd. Good aspd + big range = pwnage.
2.d - How to change classes
At level 10, you may become either a muse, hawker, soldier or dealer. If you want to become a muse, type "/class muse" (without the quotes) into your chatbox and press enter. You can't get skills on the first job.
At level 25, you may become your second job (i.e. muse can become cleric or mage). If you want to become a cleric, type "/class cleric" (without the quotes) into your chatbox and press enter. Now you can get skills...
2.e - How to get skills
You have to be your 2nd class to be able to do this. Let's say your character's name is JoNnY. All you have to do is type "/allskill JoNnY" (without the quotes) into your chatbox and press enter. Capitals count.
3.a - Where do I train?
Type "/go" (without quotes) and see which map your level belongs to. Then go there. So easy
At level 150 or so, you can go to /go 10
3.b - can u plv pl0x???????
No ^__^
I've seen non-rebs reborn perfectly fine on their own. They just upgraded their equipment with bindrunes and talismans
Also, we don't appreciate beggars.
We know you're jealous of that guy leveling like a maniac -- and look! He's passed by you 5 times already!
But did you know? You get 1k stats per your reborn -- and he gets 20 stats per his?!
3.c - Where do I buy equipment?
Go 1 has items until lv10 . Then there's go 2 after that there's go 3... Then go 4 (But don't buy armour from go 4. You will just DC. Also, to understand what the people are saying, talk to the guy in the bottom left of the city). You can only buy fruit from go 5 -- if you try to buy anything else you will DC.
3.d - Where do I get level 100-200 equipment?
Ask the gm's in game or win in an event.
3.e - I get disconnected whenever I buy this item!
Then don't buy it.
Known places where you DC would be buying armour from go 4 or weapons from go 5.
Also, you can only buy the first cart -- if you try to buy the others you will DC.
There may be other places that this occurs because ROSE updates its client quite frequently.
Version 155 doesn't have these DCes. The higher client version you have, the more of these shop-items you will stumble upon.
3.f - Is there a reborn function?
Yep. Get to level 230 and type /reborn. Don't forget to add all your available stat points -- they get reset to 0 when you reborn.
3.g - Reborn? What's that?
It's when you go back to being a level 1 visitor. Your skills and hotkeys get reset, but you keep all your items and all the things you had equipped still stay equipped and functional. Be careful when you try to equip or unequip something, though, because if you're wearing something that has a level requirement and you aren't past that level, then that item will be taken off. This happens even if you try to equip a mask when you aren't wearing one, or a necklace when your necklace slot is empty, etc. You can equip cannons, arrows, bullets, and put gems in and repair your equipment.
4.a - Howcome that person has a weird green glowing thing on their weapon/shield?
That's a gem. Green is a peridot[7]. This gem gives them 25 aspd (attack speed). This is also the most useful and popular type of gem on this server.
4.b - How do I put the gem into my equipment?
Your equipment has to have a slot/socket. A slotted equipment will have a weird hole-thing on the top left.
4.c - Where do I get slotted items?
Monsters, some event prizes (not all). Also, you can drill some items.
4.d - Howcome I can't drill this item?
Drills only work on chests, weapons, rings, earrings, and necklaces.
4.e - Where do I find drills?
Ask a gm, it will soon be in a store
4.g - Oh no! I repaired my item and the slot is gone!
Yeaaahhh.... That happens to items unless they are a weapon or a GM created the item. If you want to save your slotted sets, just don't repair them until you get to put a gem into them.
